A What’s Up Update

Hey Weasel Radio listeners, DJ Weasel here with your What’s Up Update for March 23, 2010!

The Gaming Report – After a hardware malfunction last week, we’ve upgraded our equipment and are ready for our new live video game podcast this Wednesday at 7 PM CST! Remember, you can interact with us live during the show; we’ll give out the information on how during the show, so don’t miss it! And if you do, don’t worry, it’ll be available in podcast form every Thursday.

Psychedelic Panda Radio – For those of you who have been staying up looking for PPR, I would like to apologize. Since the show contains all live DJs, when they are unable to secure DJs to be in studio, the show doesn’t run. Keep watch on our Twitter and Facebook pages and we’ll try our best to let you know which weeks PPR will be on. Thanks for supporting Psychedelic Panda Productions!

Imagine – Sadly, we’ve been unable to acquire music from artists to be able to play on our primarily electronic music show, Imagine, so we’re still unable to bring it back at this time. If you know any electronic DJs who wish to have their music played, or can petition to famous DJs to allow us to play their music, drop us an e-mail at the address provided on the Contact page.

Retro Junkies – Unfortunately, as of this week, Weasel Radio will no longer be producing Retro Junkies. The hosts have decided that they want to try running the show on their own, and Weasel Radio fully supports this decision. I know that there are a good group of fans of this show out there, and if you’re still interested in listening to Retro Junkies, please join the virtual world vSide and listen every Thursday at 7 PM CST. On that note, we will be pulling the archives of Retro Junkies on Thursday, April 1, 2010, so if you wish to download any of the past episodes, please do so in the next week. Weasel Radio wishes the hosts LizzieW and monicaB the best of luck with their show!

The Gaming Report Goes Live

We’ve had a lot of fun with the first 32 episodes of The Gaming Report, and we’ve happily been bringing you each week’s video game news updates on our sister site, the Weasel Report. After much deliberation, and schedule changes in the lives of the hosts, we’ve decided to move to Weasel Radio for a new LIVE weekly version of The Gaming Report, every Wednesday night!

Now, you can join in as we discuss the latest news in the video game world live on air every Wednesday night at 7 PM CST! And, just in case you miss an episode, we’ll have them still in podcast format for you to download. Most importantly though, you can not interact with the show LIVE! We’ll be taking your questions and comments during the show and reading them on the air! You can e-mail us at any time during the week at gamingreport [at] weaselradio.com, and you’ll hear your question on air live!

Thanks for joining us, and we can’t wait to see you here tonight for our first live episode!

Psychedelic Panda Radio Joins Weasel Radio

We’re continuing to feature great shows here at Weasel Radio, and this time, we’ve joined with Psychedelic Panda Productions to help stream their show live through Weasel Radio! Psychedelic Panda Radio is a weekly radio show which features live DJs spinning the best electronic music in the Midwest. You can listen to Psychedelic Panda Radio on 91.3 FM KUWS if you live in the northern Minnesota or Wisconsin area, or listen online exclusively on Weasel Radio!

Psychedelic Panda Radio is hosted by Arne Daze and Joe Cadotte every Friday night from 10 PM to 1 AM Central Standard Time. You can listen live through our website here, or visit their website’s radio page to listen live and hear their previous episodes, which can be found by clicking here.

Your Music, Your Station

Weasel Radio has been around the block for quite some time. We started way back in 2005 by using a series of cables redirecting sound from a single computer, and playing music into a Yahoo! Messenger voice chat room. We continued to grow from there, extending our show into a single, weekly request show on the webcam chat site Stickam. Since then, we’ve been through many different trials, and here we are as the station that we are today. We have too many people to thank for us being here at this point, but we especially want to mention the One Geek and a Microphone Network for helping provide us with the stable, excellent quality server that we use today.

All of this being said, Weasel Radio is changing once again. As you know, we have a few shows that we feature on our station. In an effort to try and increase our immersion with the community that listens, we want to get you involved in the process as well. Weasel Radio has taken a definite liking to the electronic music community lately, and we want to expand that even more.

If you are a DJ of any caliber, be it that you produce your own music, or that you make mashup mixes; we want to hear from you! We’re planning on updating our current version of Imagine, starting on February 8 with DJ Pisky live [more information on that coming soon!], and we want you to be a part of it! Please visit our “Your Music” page and read up on our new ideas, and if you have some music you’d like to submit for the show, please do so! We’re excited to hear from you, and thank you for supporting Weasel Radio throughout the years.

Retro Junkies Returns!

After a month, Weasel Radio has once again been brought on to produce the hit radio sensation on the virtual world vSide called Retro Junkies! Retro Junkies highlights the best music from before the year 2000, and each week has a different theme for their shows. It is hosted by vSide staff members LizzieW and monicaB, and produced by Weasel Radio’s DJ Weasel!

Retro Junkies is live every Thursday night at 7:00 PM CST, and returns tonight with Disco Night! The show does shoutouts throughout the night, and can be sent to them on Twitter to their username vSideRetro, and depending on time, they even take call-ins using the voice chat program Skype, and they can be found at the username retrojunkies!

Imagine LIVE with DJ Pisky

We’re taking Imagine to a whole new level on Monday, February 8, 2010. For those of you who have never heard of Imagine before, Imagine is a movement in music to expand the horizons of the genres of music that you listen to. We focus mainly on electronic music, which comes in many forms such as trance, house, happy hardcore and psy. This form of music is most popular in Europe and Asia, but has slowly been growing in popularity in the United States.

DJ Pisky is a Minnesota born DJ who focuses on Trance, Happy Hardcore and Hardstyle electronic beats. His first live show will be taking place at Valentine’s Mascarave III – Melted Heart – The Redemption on February 20, 2010 in Superior, WI [more information on the show and how DJ Weasel is getting involved can be found on the Weasel Entourage to Mascarave page]. Before then, though, Weasel Radio will be featuring an exclusive live mix from him!

On Monday, February 8, 2010, DJ Pisky will be LIVE in studio with a special mix which will be broadcast on Weasel Radio! Show time is still to-be-determined, but expect it in the early evening hours Central Standard Time. Check back here often to see updates on the show, and to be able to listen to a mix made by DJ Pisky!

New Weasel Radio Layout

Hello everyone, and welcome to the NEW layout for weaselradio.com! Over the past week, we’ve been playing with different ideas in order to make the site look more streamlined, and make content easier to access. Our old layout was bulky, and really didn’t show off the work that we did in a very orderly manner. We feel that this new layout should help you find the information that you need quickly and efficiently!

That being said, if you have any comments on our new layout, or any ideas that you would care to share with us for new features, please post them in the comments of this post. We are always looking for ways to make our site look better, and to make it easier for you to visit it. Expect a lot of cool new changes to happen over the course of the next month as we really kick Weasel Radio into high gear!
